Creating a visual campaign to highlight the value of exploring new processes in industrial production

A campaign promoted by FAD Industrial Design Association which was born of the need to explore the relationships between design and technology and how they will evolve in the future. The fusion of
emerging technologies is smashing down the traditional boundaries between the physical and the digital.

Design Beyond Technology is a project that serves a diverse collection of people from designers, engineers, tech companies and start-ups to universities and research centres. It also aims to inform the general public about the new ideas appearing at the intersection of design and technology.

The emergence of the Covid pandemic forced this conference to move online. Our job was to ensure that the new online format was coherent and worked with the offline version. We developed different resources for them to use across the various channels they use.

A collaboration between Adobe and OFFF to empower talented individuals to unleash their creative superpowers

This project’s mission is to give the next generation the help they need to shape the future of design and communication.

The challenge we faced was to provide different tools for people to use themselves. The idea is for them to create their own messages with these tools and increase the brand’s visibility across different platforms.

To strengthen the brand identity of this mentorship scheme, we decided to explore and celebrate the diverse skills and talents that are such a vital part of the creative process. We wanted to highlight them and encourage their use so we created a motion badge, specially adapted to the user’s identity, to be worn with pride, for all to see.

Reimagining a creative festival and redefining their communication

OFFF is a global community of creatives: designers, motion designers, graphic designers, sound designers, thinkers, theorists, developers, professionals and students are all members of the diverse OFFF family. They all come together, online and in person, at events all over the world to exchange ideas and share their experiences and knowledge.

Founded over a decade ago, OFFF started as a concept which has mutated over the years, constantly staying relevant in a rapidly evolving creative world. OFFF has a simple goal at its heart: to be the most important meeting place for artists who share interests and ambitions. However, it is much more than just an event or a festival, OFFF is now a community working together to give an unrivalled experience.

We have been alongside the organisation throughout its life helping it to adapt to new challenges. This has included developing a new identity, a design and communication system, the design and development of websites and their native applications, the development of a ticketing platform for the event, and the creation of the OFFF 2021 global campaign.

CAMPAIGN&nbsp;  
The global pandemic unexpectedly forced the festival to adapt and become a fully virtual experience. To communicate this new format we created a concept and story for the campaign that was promoted with a film. The campaign introduced OFFF.INC - the corporation that generates portals to further worlds; doorways to creative dimensions interpreted by the unique vision of each OFFF artist.

The film portrayed different views through the minds of the artists, emphasizing the power of the network, rather than the individuality of each person.

REBRANDING&nbsp;  
Our challenge was to convey their values through an icon and create a visual system that works well with online and offline systems.

In 2013 we transformed the famous 3 “FFF” into one icon because we felt that the OFFF icon had become visually recognisable enough that it no longer needed to show the triple “FFF”.

Using this new system of a communication grid, the website becomes one dynamic block of content which is easier for the user to adapt to. This allowed us to recreate the whole website as a platform and as an archive of news, past speakers, new speakers, and events. A new clean, organised space.

The new international icon of luxury shopping and gastronomy in the heart of Madrid.

Galería Canalejas is the new international icon of luxury shopping and gastronomy in the heart of Madrid. Located inside one of the city’s most important set of historical buildings.

The overall Galería Canalejas experience comprises more than 40 fashion, fine jewellery, perfumery and accessory brands from the world’s most prestigious brands and a Food Hall with more than 13 restaurants of varying specialities and nationalities, including several Michelin stars.

Crowd Digital helped the galleries to develop a website seeking to merge the classic and modern look of the galleries with all the functionalities needed for the customer and the company.

Creating a platform to span the generation gap and share experience with talent

We partnered with Adobe and Academy Offf to create a mentorship programme that lets young creatives from around the world connect with established stars.

The challenge we faced was how to engage the audience and to remotely connect mentors with mentees at the same time as trying to bring the story behind each project to a wider public.

Creativity is multi-disciplinary and embraces different points of view so we set out to bring together voices from all over the world to create something new. The goal of this collective work was to combine varying styles and visions into a cohesive and unique story. The result used the language of social media to create an alter ego to explore the idea of hidden powers that can be unlocked.

 Turning the brand platforms and activations to new dimensions

Seat started as a Spanish car manufacturing brand that has evolved into one of the most design-driven automakers worldwide. Later it became a part of the Volkswagen group and created the Cupra brand which focuses on sports versions.

Our long relationship with the brand, collaborating with different agencies and partners, has been defined by trying to help the company to be ready for the future and bring creative and tech solutions to new realities.

Over the last few years, we have been designing and developing several innovative projects for them. These have included a car configurator with augmented reality, the brand’s virtual museum, social media campaigns, interactive websites and the platform to book and manage factory tours.

Exploring narratives that blend the digital and physical universes and bring the location to the forefront of the story

Founded in New York City, way back in 1920, the Art Directors Club is not only the longest-running award for the design, advertising, and creative industries but also one of its most prestigious.

We were honoured to be invited to create the complete campaigns for two different years of the Annual Awards.
In a break from tradition, both of the festivals took place in Miami and our mission was to help with this transition, mentally relocating the participants to this new environment and hoping to inspire them with it.

On both campaigns, we collaborated with other animators to help lift our narrative with short films that played with the concept of how ideas evolve into new things.

A campaign to connect the creative community and reach a new digital audience

The prestigious Laus awards have been running since 1964 celebrating the achievements of Spain’s creative professionals. We were invited by ADG-FAD to create the entire campaign for the 2017 awards ceremony.

Our solution was inspired by the award itself - a beautiful rectangular cuboid statue. We turned the creative concept into a history of science and technology where different organic particles are coming together to combine into an elegant form: the award itself.

Making communication solutions and digital products accessible to customers around the world

Isdin Laboratories is an international dermatology company that has been investing in innovation and technology since 1973.

Our long term relationship with Isdin primarily takes the form of helping the company’s internal team to produce digital interactions for their online environment. These might be customer campaigns or internal digital products to provide support and services for their staff.

A personalized energy management tool for households

Personal Energy is a low-cost hardware-ree suite of customer relationship tools that combines technology and behavioural science with the Electricity Retailer's own corporate branding. These tools take the energy end-consumer experience to the next level helping Electricity Retailers to differentiate themselves from competitors.

Based on social psychology, gamification and community management strategies. Enerbyte has developed an interactive two-way communication channel. This allows them to deliver insightful information and interaction to end-consumers and ultimately personalise the customer relationship.

Designing a brand to start new conversations and projects within the social or scientific communities

Phantastikon is a family fund that invests in businesses and technologies which have the ability to transform their sector or people’s lives. Their investments are in such diverse areas as health and life sciences and real estate but all are subject to strict conditions: they must either improve people’s health or redefine their business.

The identity we created combined a very classical look, to inspire confidence in a financial organisation, with the playfulness of the symmetrical letter P which suggests balance and order. The campaign was based on a series of images that allowed us to deploy different types of communication according to the needs of the company's strategy.

The awards recognise works, exhibitions and talented projects created in the city

Nowadays, the City of Barcelona Awards are a way for the people of Barcelona to acknowledge the achievements of their fellow citizens.

The awards were originally created during the Franco years as a form of propaganda. They broke free of this unsavoury origin to become a true reflection of cultural and creative life in Barcelona.

Contemporary car services for new customer needs

Ricars is a new car service from a luxury & sports cars retailer.

Our task was to create a new visual identity that defined the personality of the brand.

The client deals in classic and sports cars but they were keen to distance themselves from the boy racer aspect of high-performance cars. What they needed was a contemporary personality.

Giving wings to transformative cultural projects

With the aim of stimulating and making viable cultural projects and ideas that transform and improve Catalan society, the Lluís Carulla Prize is awarded biennially to transformative projects and ideas.

In addition to the financial element, the award offers training and cultural and business support so that the initiatives are as transformative and economically viable as possible.

Revamping a visual language and an eCommerce App to offer a completely new experience

Mascoteros is a recognised brand in the pet market that has a new purpose: to explain and entertain by offering new services to create a community for pet owners, where they can find everything they need to make themselves and their pets happier.

The brand needed a complete redesign to deliver this new vision with an up-to-date digital environment.

To achieve this, we decided to create a dynamic identity that had a strong personality. The result is a system that works across different applications and formats and does so in a fun and friendly way.

Content strategy, technology and projects based on interactive formats, gamification and metrics on user preferences

Eckium helps professionals and their organisations to transfer knowledge to any chosen audience. Their client is a roll call of some of the biggest and most successful companies in the world.

Eckium is an international group founded in 2004 in San Francisco. They use hypermedia technology and audiovisual formats to consult and develop projects that improve how people assimilate knowledge and learn and receive commercial messages.

Supporting the foundation to define their digital ecosystem by creating a platform that transforms the gallery experience

Foto Colectania is a non-profit organisation founded in Barcelona in 2002 with the aim of disseminating photography and bringing it to a wider social, artistic, and educational field. Together, we created a digital touchpoint for the audience where they can discover the world of the most influential artists through the platform’s content.

Our objective was to help the art gallery make its digital transformation and redefine the role of the gallery in contemporary culture.

We worked with the gallery to create a future vision with international growth, public access to art culture, and a dynamic digital system.

Driving new services to Open Banking solutions for third-party financial service providers

CaixaBank is one of the biggest players in retail banking in Spain and Portugal with a socially responsible universal banking model that is committed to personal, high quality service.

We explored Open banking as a banking practice that securely shares financial information, such as consumer banking transactions and other financial data, to third-party financial service providers. Sharing data is done through the use of application programming interfaces (APIs) and only with the consent of customers.

We had the goal to create the open bank platform for CaixaBank that wants to be the driving force behind both innovation and competition in the financial industry.

Delivering a gamified social experience to a captive, locked-down audience

As a part of the collaboration with Escalera de Fumío, we created an exclusive augmented reality filter for Chips Ahoy on Instagram which allows users to interact with the cookies and win prizes.

During the periods of COVID-19 lockdown, brands and audiences desperately needed tools to allow customers to interact and enjoy on social media. The digital experience we created was accompanied by weekly contests to keep the consumers engaged.

 A brand system, visual identity, and website to showcase how the company is evolving to face the new challenges of the music industry

Houston Party Music is a company that has been promoting concerts, tours, and producing musical events since 1998 with artists such as Jay Park, Mogwai, Disclosure or 2manydjs.

The project embraces a range of music genres which come from different angles and cultures. This required the brand to have a consistent identity and a platform that connects with its audience and clients.

Our goal was to evolve the roots of the brand and generate a fresh digital system for their different channels. We approached the website as the main medium of the brand.

Expanding the limits of the catwalk to create an immersive show

Barcelona Bridal Fashion week is one of the international shows of reference for bridal fashion. Faced with pandemic restrictions, the need for a digital option became paramount. The festival had to quickly pivot to become a digital platform where brands and audiences could create relationships and interact no matter where they were.

We partnered with La Fura dels Baus to create the digital experience and to export the event around the globe through fashion shows, digital showrooms for professionals, and other events.

We had several goals for this project. The first was to increase the event’s reach with high quality content by creating a platform that would be accessible to any user. We also wanted to simplify the experience for the general public and professional brands as well as building an international platform for users from different cultures that would boost connections and generate business opportunities.

Designing the visual identity for a new network for talented networkers

YADO is an alternative and novel way for entrepreneurs and freelancers to find places to work in the city - whether in traditional co-workings or less conventional spaces such as hotels, restaurants or cafes. The company is keen to promote a nomadic way of working that is more relevant and attractive to the latest generations of workers.

But it’s not just about finding great places for people to work, it’s also about helping them make connections with other people who are looking for projects, collaborators or inspiration. Yado allows its users to expand their network of contacts and even participate in different events and activities.

The visual language we chose evolved from the concepts of “space” and “transformation” that were reworked into an identity which is fresh and easy to recognise. It plays with the shape of the letter "Y" using it as a blueprint for the space.

A complete rebrand proposal for one of the most important auditories of Europe

L'Auditori is a modern building in Barcelona that combines local musical talent with international performances. The new strategy we developed explores how the brand can evolve into a place to share and interact. We wanted the citizens and culture to take centre stage by offering international visions from different performers.

Our goal was to reposition the brand with a new narrative by creating a brand system that works as a blank canvas on different media channels be it off or online.

The new identity relates and amplifies the unique character of the building, and becomes a responsive element that lives in different contexts for different audiences.

Share a taxi on arrival with other travelers who are going your way

Xarit is an app that allows its users to join or create groups with similar arrival times and final destinations so they can share transportation. Giving them the same comfort and convenience at less expense.

A visual and interactive proposal for a new identity for Barcelona’s diverse cross-media communication platform

Betevé is the public television channel of Barcelona's city that speaks to all the different audiences and peoples that make up this cosmopolitan city.

The evolution of technology, and the city itself, cried out for a redesign of a news channel that connects with a real audience. Our proposal was focused on expanding the identity and bringing a new sense of purpose to the interactive and visual language.

The multimedia concept led us to an approach of bringing the different touchpoints and voices together on the same path. Our proposal put the content and the citizens at the heart of the project allowing the new brand to empathise and create open spaces to connect and interact with.
